Benjamin Grosvenor (Piano)

The 20th Northern Aldborough Festival opens with an appearance by the young pianist of the moment, Benjamin Grosvenor. He followed success in winning the piano section of the Young Musician of the Year aged 11 by becoming the youngest performer to open the BBC Proms in 2011, at just 17. In 2012 his debut album for Decca scooped a double Gramophone Award and the Classic Brits Critics' Award. Not since Evgeny Kissin in the 1980s has a pianist’s emergence caused so much excitement.
