Directions and Parking

Aldborough is situated about one mile from the A1(M) motorway, just outside the town of Boroughbridge. It is approximately a 50 minute drive from Leeds, 60 minutes to Newcastle and 90 minutes to Manchester. The nearest stations are Thirsk and York.

Free Car Parking is available at most venues. Parking in Aldborough about 100 yards from the Church – please follow the signs (see Last Night for Parking for this event). Please contact the Festival Office if you wish to discuss any of our access arrangements.

Last Night

The Last Night concert takes place in the grounds of Aldborough Manor, the family home of the Lawson-Tancred family. Please note that this concert takes place in the open air and there is no seating cover available.

The gates open at 6pm and there is strictly no admittance before this. Please bring chairs, cushions, rugs etc and spaces can be reserved from 6pm. Gazebos may be erected, but only in designated areas (stewards will be available to direct you) to avoid blocking the views of others. Portable BBQ’s and pets are strictly forbidden.

Last Night Parking

Signposts off the B6265 will direct cars to the Park. From the Park is it a short walk to the gardens. Car Parking is free to guests. We are very sorry that the site is not easy for people who have difficulty walking. Please book early and advise the Festival Office of any special requirements.

Litter

Please help us by disposing of all your litter. Black bags will be available.

Food & Drink

A variety of options exist to make your trip to the Aldborough Festival as enjoyable as possible.

Opera Dining

Opera performances at the Northern Aldborough Festival feature a 75 minute interval. During this time you are welcome to bring picnics to eat in the church grounds or the field used for parking. Alternatively, the Ship Inn opposite the church serves excellent food.

Light Refreshments

For those who like something a little lighter, Advent Catering offer a selection of open and closed finger sandwiches, served with cherry tomatoes and crisps. These are served in the marquee and must be pre-ordered.

Bar Facility

A fully licensed cash bar, serving draught beer and lager, wine, champagne, spirits and soft drinks (including tea and coffee) will be in operation in the marquee within the church grounds from 6pm each evening. Interval drinks may be pre-ordered, please ask for a form at the bar.
